The Patient Care Support Specialist will work within a specialized unit that caters to outpatient medical patients requiring close monitoring. This position demands strong critical thinking abilities and effective task prioritization to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct Patient Assistance: Aid patients with daily living activities, including bathing, feeding, and mobility, under the supervision of registered nurses.
- Environmental Safety: Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing regular safety checks and organizing patient areas.
- Supply Management: Oversee the acquisition and distribution of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring readiness for patient care.
- Effective Communication: Collaborate with healthcare team members and provide timely feedback to nursing staff.
- Documentation: Accurately record patient information and adhere to safety protocols and compliance standards.
- Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to urgent situations and provide companionship to patients as needed.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Preferred qualifications include:
- One year of relevant experience or enrollment in a healthcare training program.
- Completion of a bachelor's degree in a health sciences discipline.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
