Job Description

The University of Pennsylvania seeks a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Associate Director of Academic Affairs and Student Experience. This key role will lead the development and implementation of strategies to enhance the student experience, with a focus on student accommodations and disability services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in academic advising, student affairs, and disability services. They will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Academic Affairs office, including supervising staff, coordinating processes and technology, and driving continuous improvements in service delivery.

The Associate Director will also serve as the primary liaison to Penn's Office of Student Disabilities Services, ensuring that MBA students receive accommodations in compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This includes managing, supervising, implementing, and coordinating students' academic accommodations, as well as training and supervising staff.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams. They will also have a proven record of managing academic programs and offerings, with experience working with academic platforms and data applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of strategies to enhance the student experience, with a focus on student accommodations and disability services.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Academic Affairs office, including supervising staff, coordinating processes and technology, and driving continuous improvements in service delivery.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to Penn's Office of Student Disabilities Services, ensuring that MBA students receive accommodations in compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Manage, supervise, implement, and coordinate students' academic accommodations, as well as train and supervise staff.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive policies, guidance, and procedures that advance the University's commitment to inclusivity and student success.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in academic advising, student affairs, and disability services.
  • An MBA, JD, or a Master's degree in Education is strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing student accommodations and disability services, with knowledge of disability laws and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
  • A proven record of managing academic programs and offerings, with experience working with academic platforms and data applications.
