Park Operations Crew Leader

Job Summary:
The Park Operations Crew Leader is responsible for supervising day-to-day operations in assigned areas of responsibility, including planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating projects, processes, costs, procedures, systems, and standards. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to oversee staff and ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise staff and/or contractors to include prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, processing payroll and accounts payable, ensuring staff are trained, and implementing hiring, termination, and disciplinary procedures.
- Promote and advance safety and efficiency of equipment by coordinating inspections, repairs, maintenance, and the operation of equipment and vehicles.
- Prepare, maintain, update, and/or submit reports, records, bills, work orders, logs, and other documentation, and use, maintain, and/or update databases and computerized systems and software.
- Identify, respond to, investigate, and resolve complex issues and concerns from customers or related to safety issues, and conduct follow-ups to determine customer satisfaction and service quality.
- Coordinate with internal/external departments, personnel, and agencies, and participate in a variety of meetings to receive and communicate information, and facilitate and evaluate operations and processes.
- High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of increasingly responsible experience in park operations, including 2 years of lead or supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
- CPR Certification, Irrigation Technician Certification, and Non-Commercial Pesticide Applicator with 3A Landscape Maintenance Category.
- Supervisory principles, applicable tools and equipment utilized in maintenance and operations activities, advanced theories, principles, and practices in assigned area of responsibility, project management techniques and methods, procurement principles, inventory management principles, applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, codes, and regulations, recordkeeping principles, and safe work practices.
- Monitoring and evaluating the work of subordinate staff, prioritizing and assigning work, training employees in proper work methods, managing projects, monitoring the work of external contractors, using and maintaining applicable tools and equipment, preparing and maintaining operational records, estimating time, materials, tools, and equipment requirements for jobs, purchasing materials, equipment, and supplies, interpreting and applying policies, procedures, codes, laws, and regulations, and utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, and others sufficient to exchange or convey information.
Positions in this class typically require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be exposed to hazardous physical conditions, such as mechanical parts, electrical currents, and vibrations; atmospheric conditions, such as fumes, odors, gases, and poor ventilation; hazardous materials, such as chemicals, blood, and other bodily fluids; extreme temperatures; inadequate lighting; work space-related movement restrictions; intense noise; and other environmental conditions, such as challenging behaviors, imminent danger, and threatening environments.
