Senior Engineering Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineering Manager to lead our hotel's maintenance operations. If you have a passion for problem-solving, hands-on work, and general building maintenance, this position may be a great fit for you.

Flexibility in scheduling may be required for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the maintenance of hotel equipment and facilities to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Supervise a team of maintenance staff and provide guidance on best practices and procedures.
  • Manage department expenditures and maintain a budget to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and implement preventative maintenance programs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and resolve any issues that may arise.
Requirements:
  • Must hold a City of New Orleans First Class Engineer License.
  • Second Class Engineering License required, with the ability to obtain the First Class Engineer License within 90 days of hire.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
  • Competent in conducting preventative maintenance on hotel equipment.
  • Skilled in carpentry, painting, drywall, and carpet repair.
  • Ability to supervise maintenance staff and manage department expenditures.
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations.
  • Experience in swimming pool maintenance and ordering supplies.
Qualifications:
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Prior experience in hotel maintenance and management.
  • Proficiency in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, ventilation systems, and carpentry.
