Position Overview: The primary objective of the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) role is to deliver comprehensive health care, education, and training to clients within a clinical setting. This role requires a commitment to professionalism, empathy, and respectful communication in all forms. The aim is to implement trauma-informed care practices, ensure suicide prevention measures, and cultivate a nurturing environment that promotes equity in health and racial matters. Strong communication abilities and teamwork skills are essential for collaboration with both internal and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the Nurse Practice Act and apply nursing techniques and procedures effectively.
  • Utilize knowledge of community resources relevant to the target demographic.
  • Implement suitable substance abuse treatment options for clients.
  • Develop health education curricula tailored to client needs.
  • Engage effectively with diverse populations on sensitive health issues, fostering supportive service relationships.
  • Provide clinical training to nursing staff and Phlebotomists.
  • Perform medication dosage calculations accurately.
  • Utilize computer systems for thorough documentation.

Regular and predictable attendance is crucial for this role. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed, and a flexible work schedule may be required.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Completion of an accredited LVN program is required.

Licensure:

  • Must possess a current LVN license in Texas.
  • Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is mandatory.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is necessary.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position with varying workdays and hours from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

Compensation:

The salary is $34.64 per hour, based on years of licensure, with an additional 10% crisis stipend.
