As a Vocational Nurse I, you will engage in essential nursing duties aimed at enhancing the health and welfare of residents.

Your responsibilities will include delivering care and treatment to individuals residing at our facility, ensuring their general well-being and addressing their unique needs.

You will perform routine nursing tasks to promote health and wellness within your assigned areas and shifts.

In addition, you will guide direct support professionals and other staff on delivering care that aligns with the medical requirements of our residents.

You will execute technical nursing procedures in accordance with facility and state regulations, while staying informed about all relevant policies and procedures.

Your role will involve assisting in the orientation of new vocational nurses, helping them acclimate to nursing functions within our facility.


You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, exercising limited initiative and independent judgment.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain regular attendance and be prepared to work specific or rotating shifts, including extended hours as needed.


Administer medications and treatments through various methods, including oral and injection.

Collaborate with other medical professionals, such as Registered Nurses and Physicians, to provide comprehensive care to patients.

Conduct rounds and home visits as necessary, demonstrating proficiency in technical nursing tasks in compliance with state regulations.

Assist in training new vocational nursing staff, introducing them to residents and their care preferences.


Perform basic nursing tasks in accordance with established regulations, while developing skills to handle more complex procedures under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.

This includes specialized care such as tracheostomy and wound care.


Monitor residents' health by tracking vital signs, weight, and dietary needs, and ensure timely documentation of treatments and observations in medical records.

Foster effective communication with team members to support collaborative decision-making regarding patient care.


Respond to emergencies, ensuring the safety of residents while adhering to infection control protocols.

Collect specimens for laboratory analysis and provide education to residents about their care plans and treatments.


Ensure that necessary supplies are available for procedures and maintain proper inventory levels.
Perform additional duties as assigned, including participation in disaster response efforts as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of nursing standards and procedures, along with emergency response protocols.

Proficient in problem-solving and computer skills.

Ability to provide compassionate care to individuals with diverse medical and behavioral needs.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.

Must maintain current CPR certification and possess the physical capability to perform CPR.
