Anatomic Pathology Operations Coordinator
The Anatomic Pathology Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional service within the Gross Room(s) and Autopsy Services of Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. This position requires collaboration with Pathologists and various specialists to maintain the smooth functioning of the laboratory, which includes the formulation of procedures, inventory oversight, and troubleshooting technical and service-related challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and review quality control documentation and logs.
- Develop and revise standard operating procedures as necessary.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Oversee the maintenance of the laboratory information management system.
- Identify and resolve technical and workflow-related issues.
- Facilitate training and competency evaluations for staff.
- Coordinate staffing and scheduling for departmental activities.
- Manage inventory control and supply requisitions.
- Foster relationships with clients and suppliers.
- Assist in the selection, training, and supervision of staff.
- Support budget formulation and expense tracking.
- Coordinate the maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment.
- Engage in staff development and leadership initiatives.
Qualifications:
- General Supervisor qualification in accordance with CLIA 88 regulations.
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Certification from a recognized Board of Registry or equivalent.
