Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Horticulturist/ Customer Service Associate to join our team at Bachman's. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining knowledge of trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals, and processing transactions accurately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer customer questions regarding plant care and provide expert advice on a wide range of products.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals, including their characteristics, growth habits, and care requirements.
  • Work directly on the sales floor and at registers, assisting customers and achieving Bachman's customer service standards.
  • Process transactions accurately, including W/C and delivery orders, returns, and transfers.
  • Maintain store appearance by performing general cleaning, caring for plants, dusting, stocking, and displaying merchandise.
  • Answer telephone calls regarding perishable horticulture questions.

Requirements

  • A two-year Horticulture degree or MNLA Certification is required.
  • Demonstrate a wide range of product knowledge with all Garden Center products.
  • Excellent customer relations and communication skills are essential.
  • 3+ years of product knowledge and gardening experience are preferred.
  • Must be able to read and write in English and perform basic math skills.
  • Past cashier experience is preferred.

Work Schedule

Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
