Key Responsibilities- Assist Pharmacists with Medication Histories and provide accurate and timely information to patients and their families.
- Train and mentor new Pharmacy Technicians to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Prepare and verify drug orders, including non-sterile and sterile products, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition products, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Verify patient medication records accurately and maintain up-to-date records.
- Issue controlled substances to patient care areas and maintain records as required by law and institutional policies.
- Provide services efficiently and in a timely fashion, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain competency and licensure requirements, including IV certification and CE records.
- Participate in quality improvement and medication use review activities, collecting data, conducting monitors, and maintaining logs and records.
- Conduct designated interventions, such as IV to PO, renal dosing, and pharmacokinetic dosing support.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 3-5 years of pharmacy technician experience preferred.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of practice required.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred.
- ACPE accredited IV certification program, including hazardous (minimum 40 hours); or meet minimum State requirement.
