Position Overview
The role demands a profound understanding of both state and federal criminal justice frameworks, offering a distinctive and stimulating opportunity for a dedicated attorney. The incumbent will manage an independent caseload, collaborating closely with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute a range of criminal offenses.
Key Responsibilities
- Focus on prosecuting serious offenses, including violent crimes and firearm-related incidents.
- Engage in cases involving drug trafficking, sex trafficking, and money laundering.
- Provide clear, practical, and precise legal advice on complex issues.
- Contribute to the drafting and review of official advisory opinions and legislative documents.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must be U.S. citizens, have graduated from an accredited law school, and either be admitted to the Virginia State Bar or be eligible for admission. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, sound judgment, and exceptional written and verbal communication abilities are essential. The ability to analyze and manage intricate cases is also required.
Preferred Experience
Ideal candidates should possess a minimum of five years of relevant experience, particularly in prosecutorial roles within Virginia or federal courts.
