Job Overview

Position: Assistant Store Manager (ASM)

Reports To: Store Manager (SM), General Manager/Area Manager (AM/GM)

Direct Reports: Customer Service Associates (CSAs), Stockpersons

POSITION SUMMARY

As an Assistant Store Manager (ASM), you will be instrumental in assisting the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations and ensuring the store runs efficiently.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within a fast-paced retail environment or relevant training experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Capability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented setting with a focus on achieving objectives
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Competence in computer applications, especially Microsoft Office
  • Reliable transportation is required
  • Successful completion of background checks and drug testing may be required based on location
  • Relevant certifications such as TAM Card and additional security clearances may be necessary in specific areas

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support sales initiatives and guide Customer Service Associates (CSAs) to improve sales outcomes
  • Oversee store opening and closing procedures
  • Collaborate closely with the Store Manager to ensure financial controls are maintained, uphold a clean store environment, and set a positive example for sales staff
  • Contribute to the development of a high-performing sales team by ensuring staff motivation, knowledge, and adequate coverage on the sales floor
  • Conduct supervisory tasks including coaching team members and onboarding new employees
  • Communicate with management and buyers regarding merchandise suitability and popularity
  • Effectively utilize store software systems and assist in meeting Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and foster loyal clientele
  • Assist in inventory management and merchandising efforts
  • Handle customer interactions with professionalism and attentiveness

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • May be required to work a six-day week with overtime during peak periods
  • Adhere to the core values and mission of the organization
  • Willingness to undertake other assigned tasks as necessary
