Role Summary

The Retail Operations Supervisor (ROS) plays a crucial role in assisting the Store Manager with operational efficiency and leading Customer Service Representatives as required. This position ensures safety, profitability, and exceptional customer service within the retail environment. As a non-exempt hourly role, the ROS reports directly to the Store Manager and is essential in maintaining the daily operations of the retail facility. Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Store Manager and lead the team in their absence, enforcing company policies and addressing scheduling matters as needed.
  • Manage daily administrative tasks, including processing invoices, sales reports, and inventory assessments.
  • Conduct basic computer operations and sales evaluations, addressing issues as they arise.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service, addressing complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Employ merchandising and suggestive selling techniques to enhance sales while fostering strong customer relationships.
  • Accurately process transactions at the cash register, manage cash and other payment forms, and adhere to cash handling protocols to mitigate loss.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store, including equipment upkeep.
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage shift closeouts efficiently.
  • Perform tasks with minimal supervision and be prepared to work flexible hours as required.
  • Report any instances of dishonesty by customers, vendors, or employees, following company protocols for addressing theft.
  • Adhere to all company policies and relevant regulations.
  • Participate in all mandatory employee training sessions and meetings.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying items up to 60 lbs. from ground to waist level as necessary.
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 30 lbs. from ground to overhead for up to 30 minutes.
  • Ability to push and pull with arms up to a force of 20 lbs.
  • Ability to bend and twist at the waist for up to 1 hour.
  • Ability to grasp, reach, and manipulate objects, including climbing ladders as needed.
Work Environment:
  • Majority of duties performed indoors.
  • Exposure to cold temperatures when working in refrigerated areas.
  • Occasional work in confined spaces and independent tasks.
  • Minimal supervision with a focus on self-direction.
Equipment Utilized:
  • Electronic devices such as POS systems, store telephones, and various payment processing machines.
  • Manual tools including cleaning supplies and carts.
  • Handling of various materials including liquids and cleaning agents.
Qualifications:
  • At least 6 months of experience in retail or sales, preferably in a convenience store setting.
  • High School diploma or GED is preferred.

  • Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written.
