Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at WellSpan Health. As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will play a vital role in the care and support of our patients in the psychiatric unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide care to patients in a safe and therapeutic environment, considering their comfort and well-being.
  • Assist the professional staff in the evaluation and care of patients, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Support patients with activities of daily living, promoting independence and dignity.
  • Monitor and record patient vital signs, maintaining accurate and legible records.
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain a safe and respectful environment, adhering to hospital and unit procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Certificate Program in Certified Nursing Assistant or some college-level social science preferred.
  • Less than 1 year of relevant experience required.
  • Basic Life Support certification required upon hire; Certified Nurse Aide certification preferred.
Working Environment

This role requires standing, walking, and sitting frequently, with occasional lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling of up to 50 pounds. The working environment may involve occupational hazards and exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
