Nursing Support Specialist

Job Summary: As a Nursing Care Technician at the University of Kentucky, you will work closely with Registered Nurses to provide direct patient care and support. This role involves obtaining vital signs, phlebotomy, documentation, assisting with activities of daily living, responding to patient call lights, and unit orientation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide total, continuous, and patient-centered care in a collaborative work environment.
- Utilize the nursing process in conjunction with a comprehensive patient-centered plan of care.
- Ensure patient satisfaction and adhere to University policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and physicians to increase communication and enhance patient outcomes.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- One or more of the following: RN Nursing student, valid Kentucky State Registered Nursing Certificate (SRNA), military medic experience, Emergency Medical Technician Certificate (EMT), Active LPN license, or Nursing Care Technician (NCT) competencies.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull pounds occasionally and 25-50 pounds frequently.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SRNA + 2 months of experience preferred.
