Role Summary

Under the guidance of the Tooling Supervisor, this role performs repairs, maintenance, and engineering changes on production molds. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing and maintaining assigned tooling and molds, cleaning and servicing molds in and out of the press, and performing maintenance and repairs on tools in and out of the press.

Key Responsibilities
  • Services and maintains assigned tooling and molds
  • Cleans and services molds in and out of the press
  • Performs maintenance and repairs on tools in and out of the press
  • Bench and finishes molds (core and cavity), splits molds, operates mold rotator, loads and unloads trucks and mold carts
  • Makes power, thermocouples, and corepull cables
  • Rebuilds hot runner systems
  • Services and rebuilds hydraulic cylinders and troubleshoots hydraulic problems with molds
  • Operates various machines such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, surface grinders, etc.
  • Must be able to do basic programming on the CNC Mill
  • Must be able to properly operate Tool Tugger to transport tools
  • Welds (mig, tig, and stick) as required
  • Reads drawings and prints
Key Qualifications/Requirements
  • 3-5 years continuous machining experience using machines listed in essential functions
  • Training and experience in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic fields
  • Welding experience on tool steel and other exotic metals on both core and cavity of tools
  • Must be able to perform core work in spotting press
  • Must be able to properly operate Overhead Crane to move and set-up tools for tool work
  • Must have good problem-solving skills
  • Must have excellent math skills and basic understanding of SPC principles
  • Must work well with others
  • Must have good communication skills - both verbal and written
