Job Summary:
Venteon is seeking a skilled Tool & Die Maker to join our team. As a Tool & Die Maker, you will be responsible for planning and operating machine shop tools, performing weld repairs and heat treatments, and determining specifications for inspection of work.
Responsibilities:
- Plan setup and operation of machine shop tools, considering material types, tolerances, cutting tools, coolants, lubricants, and machine tool feeds and speeds.
- Weld repair and heat treatment of different materials, including tool steels.
- Determine specifications for inspection of work, using precision measuring and gaging tools, and perform required inspection before, during, and after machining.
- Perform hand operations involved in producing jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies.
- Fitting and assembling jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies, and setting up, running off, and testing dies to produce a product to specifications.
- Tearing down, repairing, and reassembling tooling on the bench or in the press as required.
Requirements:
- Journeyman Card or 5 years of verifiable Tool & Die experience.
- Progressive Die and Transfer Die Experience is strongly preferred.
- Problem-solving skills, proven written and verbal communication skills.
- Metal Stamping and Automotive Plant Manufacturing experience preferred.
