Job Responsibilities

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will provide essential nursing services to residents, including but not limited to:
  • Conducting daily assessments to monitor the physical and emotional well-being of residents.
  • Administering medications in accordance with physician orders and facility standards.
  • Delivering direct nursing care and support to residents.
  • Preparing treatment trays and assisting physicians as needed.
  • Reviewing and updating care plans to ensure optimal care delivery.
  • Providing emergency assistance when required.
  • Participating in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives relevant to nursing care.
  • Contributing to Resident Care Conferences by maintaining nursing care plans and identifying resident needs.

Documentation and Reporting

Maintain accurate records of resident care and vital statistics, ensuring compliance with all regulations:
  • Documenting physician orders and significant changes in resident conditions.
  • Ensuring proper documentation of resident records according to established policies.
  • Communicating effectively with supervisors, physicians, and families regarding resident care.

Supervisory Duties

Oversee the delivery of care in your assigned area:
  • Assist in supervising nursing assistants and delegating tasks appropriately.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and recommend personnel actions.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a secure environment for residents.

Professional Conduct

Exhibit professionalism and respect in all interactions:
  • Wear identification badges and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Ensure resident confidentiality and comfort during care.
  • Foster teamwork and support among colleagues.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:
Graduate from an accredited nursing program.

LICENSURE:
Current Connecticut LPN license and CPR certification required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to perform nursing duties, including lifting and prolonged standing.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Regular interaction with residents and exposure to various conditions.
