KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Director of Medical Services will dedicate a minimum of 3 days per week to delivering medical care to patients at the Healing Community Center, within the scope of expertise.
Adjustments to service levels may occur based on clinical needs, internal or external obligations, and unforeseen circumstances.
This position is accountable for the organization’s Health Care Plan.Formulate a Monthly Medical Provider Schedule for CEO review and approval. Establish a policy for Department Directors or Providers to make changes without needing written consent from the CEO.
Design and oversee a mandatory Provider Peer Review process, with outcomes reported to the CEO and the Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance Committee.
Supervise discussions regarding problematic Peer Review Findings and recommend corrective measures, which may include additional training, supervision, or termination.
Present appropriate recommendations to the CEO for any proposed dismissals, and upon approval, bring the matter to the Board of Directors for final action.
Collaborate closely with the Chief Operations Officer (COO) to ensure effective administrative operations, including program revenue cycle management and business development.
Work alongside the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) to ensure cohesive financial and accounting operations, including budgeting and fiscal management.
Partner with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) to maintain effective information technology operations, including infrastructure and Electronic Health Records (EHR) management.
In collaboration with the Assistant Director of Clinical Quality, QA/QI committee, and Providers, develop strategic actions based on evidence-based prevention and clinical interventions for patients and the broader community.
Establish and nurture relationships with clinical partners, including healthcare institutions and community organizations, to promote the mission and objectives of the Healing Community Center.
In conjunction with the Senior Management Team, oversee utilization management and develop ongoing partnerships as appropriate.
Supervise the Director of Nursing to ensure adherence to clinical policies and protocols regarding medication management and local pharmacy utilization.
