Job Title: Head of Finance

Cloverly is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Head of Finance to join our team. As a key member of the executive team, you will be responsible for leading the company's financial strategy and operations, driving growth, and ensuring financial stability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement Cloverly's financial strategy, forecast, and budget.
  • Manage FP&A as a strategic thought leader, deeply understanding the business.
  • Establish and manage the company's finance and accounting operations in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Oversee the transition of finance and accounting functions from outsourced vendors to in-house operations.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with banks, investors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to the CEO and other members of the executive team.
  • Participate in fundraising activities, including preparing financial models and presentations for potential investors.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements in the carbon credit market.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or related fields, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record leading and building a finance function for a high-growth, early-stage startup.
  • Experience in or around the voluntary carbon markets or related industries, corporate sustainability, fintech/financial services, or multi-sided marketplaces.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, with a proven track record of building and managing complex financial operations from scratch.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in fundraising and working with investors is a plus.
  • CPA, CFA, or other relevant certifications are preferred.
  • A passion for climate.
  • A strong bias for action and will to succeed; highly resourceful.
  • A history of or a desire to work in a high-growth, rapidly-evolving startup.
  • Adaptability and comfort amidst ambiguity, changing directives, and rapidly evolving market conditions.
