About the Job:

We are seeking a highly skilled Commodity Manager, Mechanicals to join our team at Fluke, a leading provider of software, test tools, and technology. As a key member of our supply chain management team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing global sourcing strategies that support our business goals.

As a Commodity Manager, Mechanicals, you will have the opportunity to work with cross-functional teams to identify and eliminate waste in the supply chain, improve product design requirements, and streamline processing. You will also be responsible for managing supply base performance, negotiating with vendors, and implementing continuous improvement strategies to drive cost reduction initiatives and improve global supply chain performance.

About You:

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in supply chain management, mechanical engineering, or a related field. You should have a minimum of 5-8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a proven track record of driving cost reduction initiatives and improving global supply chain performance.

You should be able to negotiate with vendors, manage supply base performance, and implement continuous improvement strategies to drive cost reduction initiatives and improve global supply chain performance. You should also have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

What You Will Do:
  • Develop and implement global sourcing strategies to support business goals
  • Manage supply base performance, negotiate with vendors, and implement continuous improvement strategies to drive cost reduction initiatives and improve global supply chain performance
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify and eliminate waste in the supply chain, improve product design requirements, and streamline processing
  • Navigate a challenging and complex global operations environment to meet the demanding needs of Factory Managers, Manufacturing & Design Engineers, Materials, Finance & Accounting, and Product Managers
Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of the overall supply chain from the suppliers' raw materials to the end product, including key drivers of quality, delivery, cost, lead times, and risk factors
  • Broad knowledge of mechanical parts manufacturing processes, including machining, progressive die stamping, surface finishing, sheet metal forming, injection molding, and assembly
  • Ability to translate mechanical drawing requirements to global best manufacturing practices
  • 5-8 years of supply chain or operations experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Good organization, project management, and follow-through skills
Preferred Experiences:
  • Low volume, high mix procurement experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or other relevant discipline
  • Experience using lean methodology processes in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in a low volume and high mix production environment
  • Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Oracle experience preferred
