Job Description

Job Summary:

Bristol General Contractors, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Manager to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and managing quality control and quality assurance processes, procedures, and documentation associated with deliverable preparation, tracking, and reviews for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control Planning: Prepare and submit Quality Control Project Plans, including Definable Features of Work, inspection requirements, testing plans, and detailed submittals registers.
  • Compliance and Submittals: Ensure compliance with submittal requirements, including drafting, submitting, and maintaining submittal logs, tracking review/approval/resubmittal, and reviewing technical submittals as required.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule and coordinate all special inspections, supplemental QC staffing, and RFIs as needed.
  • Quality Control Process Implementation: Implement field 3-phase Quality Control processes in accordance with USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors training.
  • Progress Meetings and Reporting: Host periodic QC Progress Meetings with clients, document scheduled activity start and stop dates in QC daily reports, and prepare and submit monthly schedule update submittal packages.
  • Quality Deficiency Tracking: Document field quality deficiencies and track via Deficiency Log through closeout.
  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a QC team of subject matter experts to execute successful job-specific QC programs.
  • Communication and Reporting: Complete targeted Daily Quality Control Reports, notes of Preparatory and Initial Phase meetings, and reports of deficiencies. Report the status of quality program implementation to the Corporate Director of Quality Control.

Requirements:

  • Management Experience: Proven track record of meeting production, quality, and customer service standards in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Communication and Analytical Skills: Skilled in written and oral communication, analysis, and problem-solving.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of USACE RMS system, Excel, Word, and commercial scheduling software such as MS Project or Primavera P6.
  • Leadership and Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to assist and communicate with staff and clients.

  • Mobility: Must be able to stoop, kneel, reach, walk, lift, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Hearing: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms.
  • Visual Acuity: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and perform activities such as viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.
  • LIFTING: Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
