Job Title: Engineering Technician 3

Maritime Operations within Mission Technologies - Nuclear & Environmental Services is seeking an Engineering Technician 3 to join our team in Newport News, VA.

Job Summary:

As an Engineering Technician 3, you will provide technical support to engineers on various technical tasks, gather and maintain technical data, and produce engineering documentation. You will work in a waterfront office environment and require adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
  • Gather, maintain, and format technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes.
  • Produce engineering documentation, reports, drawings, and flow charts.
  • Perform detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas.
  • Use personal computers to analyze data and develop documentation.
  • May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.
Requirements:
  • Candidate must have either an Associate's Degree or other two-year technical degree in a related discipline and three years of experience, or a High School Diploma or equivalent and five years of related experience.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
Bonus Points:
  • Actively pursuing an ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Prior nuclear operations or work control experience.
  • Prior Navy nuclear propulsion experience, DOE, or commercial nuclear power experience.
  • Navy Nuclear Power School graduate.
  • Four years of related manufacturing, shipbuilding, or trades experience.
Physical Requirements:

Job performance requires adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the job. A waterfront office work environment is normally encountered.
