We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Engineer 3 to join our team in Newport News, VA. As a Nuclear Engineer 3, you will be responsible for providing engineering and technical support for the construction, overhaul, testing, and operations of propulsion and reactor plant components.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide engineering and technical support for the construction, overhaul, testing, and operations of propulsion and reactor plant components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Develop and implement solutions to complex engineering problems.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in the development and implementation of training programs for nuclear engineers.
- Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering or related field.
- Five years of relevant experience in nuclear engineering, or three years of experience with a Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering, or zero years of experience with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in Nuclear Engineering.
- Knowledge of nuclear and radiation safety principles.
- Proficient in the use of desktop or personal computers with associated software.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship.
- US Navy or commercial nuclear reactor and/or steam plant operations experience.
