About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Engineer to join our team at Huntington Ingalls Industries. As a Nuclear Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing nuclear equipment and systems. You will conduct research on new materials of special interest in nuclear reactors and study the detection and control of radiation and radioactive contaminants.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of nuclear physics and engineering principles. You will work closely with our team of experts to develop and implement new technologies and processes that improve the safety and efficiency of our nuclear systems.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop nuclear equipment and systems
  • Conduct research on new materials and technologies
  • Study the detection and control of radiation and radioactive contaminants

  • Collaborate with the team to achieve project goals
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in nuclear engineering. You will also need excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as a strong understanding of nuclear physics and engineering principles.
