Position Summary
The Senior Estimator and Project Supervisor will be responsible for leading the estimation and project management processes. This role involves:

  • Conducting comprehensive estimates and formulating proposals ahead of bid deadlines.
  • Engaging in pre and post-job evaluations.
  • Interpreting blueprints and technical documents to create accurate estimates.
  • Collaborating with clients, contractors, and sales teams to prepare competitive bids.
  • Calculating and adjusting estimates based on various cost factors, including production time, materials, and labor.
  • Maintaining meticulous records of estimated versus actual costs.
  • Performing field evaluations to support estimate preparation.
  • Soliciting bids from vendors and subcontractors for projects.
  • Reviewing proposal specifications and drawings to ascertain the scope of work and necessary estimate components.
  • Keeping job cost records current for future reference.
  • Coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers to develop cost-effective project scopes.
  • Overseeing construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Conducting interviews and assessments of potential employees and subcontractors.
  • Establishing a communication framework to keep stakeholders informed about project progress.
  • Generating profit forecasts, estimating costs, and scheduling deliverables.
  • Ensuring compliance with building and safety regulations.
  • Regularly reviewing work quality with the project team to meet established standards.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management, or equivalent experience (preferred).
  • A minimum of 10 years in an estimating or project management capacity within the drywall and metal framing sector (required).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is advantageous.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (required).

Preferred Skills
  • Extensive knowledge of the drywall and metal framing construction industry, including building codes, blueprints, permits, and project management principles.
  • Experience with construction or project management software is preferred.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Meticulous organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in reading drawings and specifications.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
