Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the patient and physician flow of the Brain Tumor program and other clinics, ensuring seamless communication and care delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient care plans, working closely with providers and program coordinators to ensure safe and efficient care.
  • Identify and address patient and family needs, providing education and support to enhance the patient experience.
  • Serve as a liaison between medical practices and ancillary services, facilitating communication and coordination of care.
  • Assume responsibility for leading all communications and documentation between medical practices and ancillary services.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maintain and implement up-to-date coordinated patient care.
  • Enter patient demographics and insurance information into electronic health systems, ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
  • Obtain tests and visit authorizations, collecting necessary information for appointment and admission.
  • Assist patients and families in obtaining referrals and appointments with needed specialists, ensuring smooth transitions of care.
  • Ensure communication between staff and physicians, responsible for arranging appointments and follow-up, and serving as a front-line resource for obtaining records and test results.
  • Identify and eliminate healthcare system barriers to ensure timely access to quality medical and clinical care.
Requirements
  • RN licensure within the State of Florida or Multi-State Enhanced Nursing License Compact (eNLC) - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment.
  • American Heart Association BLS - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment.
  • 2-5 years of Pediatric Oncology experience is required.
  • BSN degree or currently enrolled in BSN Program.
  • MSN, MPH or MHSA preferred.
  • 3-5 years of administrative support and coordination preferred.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA requirements and patient information is preferred.
  • Electronic Health Systems (EHS) experience preferred.
  • Medical insurance and billing experience preferred.
  • Ability to learn new software applications.
  • Excellent communication, customer service skills, and phone etiquette.
  • Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Able to adapt and react calmly under stressful conditions.
  • Able to prioritize and successfully handle multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel.
