About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Category Sourcing Specialist to join our team at Tempur Sealy. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for studying and reviewing global commodity forecasts, presenting findings to stakeholders, and leading the Category Sourcing Team in RFQs, RFI's, and RFP's.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commodity Forecasting and Analysis
    • Study and review global commodity forecasts to identify trends and opportunities
    • Present findings to stakeholders and provide recommendations for strategic sourcing decisions
  • Category Sourcing and Procurement
    • Lead the Category Sourcing Team in RFQs, RFI's, and RFP's to identify and evaluate potential suppliers
    • Manage supplier pricing and trade agreements through Basware price lists and vendor setup
  • Supply Chain Collaboration
    • Participate in cross-functional events to align supply chain functions and express the best interest of all stakeholders
    • Provide critical feedback loops to Manufacturing and Planning on supplier capacities and product complexity
  • Inventory Risk Management
    • Assess inventory risk associated with product rollouts and advise the team on mitigation strategies
    • Update forecast scorecards and ensure suppliers have received forecast information
  • Supplier Management
    • Maintain supplier balanced scorecards and review data for accuracy
    • Follow up with suppliers and stakeholders as needed to ensure compliance and data accuracy
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Develop and maintain monthly shipping reports from suppliers
    • Review and provide feedback on reports, and follow up with delinquent suppliers
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Interact with internal and external customers as needed
    • Manage open orders reports from multiple systems
    • ASN completion for key suppliers into TSI plants
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Sourcing, or a related field
  • Skills
    • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Software Programs (Word, Excel, Power BI, etc.)
    • Ability to prepare presentations in PowerPoint and proficiency in public speaking
