Amalgamated Bank is on the lookout for a Licensed Retail Banking Representative. Under general supervision and adhering to established policies and procedures, this role is dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service to both potential and existing clients across a diverse range of activities. The Licensed Retail Banking Representative will identify customers who may benefit from an in-depth financial assessment with a designated Financial Advisor. This position requires flexibility to operate in both the Teller and Customer Service sectors based on the branch's operational needs. Additionally, this role will assist branch management in meeting performance goals and contribute to branch initiatives and promotional activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service Functions:
- Manage all aspects of account opening and maintenance in compliance with Bank policies and procedures, including customer identification and service standards.
- Proactively recommend and cross-sell Bank products by engaging customers with insightful questions and suggesting suitable products and services based on their feedback. Participate in promotional activities to meet performance objectives.
- Actively advocate for the Bank and its offerings.
- Engage in off-site sales initiatives, branch networking, and community involvement.
- Address and resolve customer complaints related to sales, service, or account inquiries.
Teller Line Responsibilities:
- Execute various Retail Banking Representative duties, including issuing official checks, processing safe deposit box rentals, handling deposits and withdrawals, and managing loan payments.
- Support fellow Retail Banking Representatives in reconciling daily transactions, verifying documentation, and resolving customer inquiries.
- Conduct research and investigation into customer claims regarding transaction discrepancies.
General Duties:
- Assist branch officers with various operational functions and reporting as needed.
- Provide priority service to customers requiring special assistance.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including ongoing education and certification requirements.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Possession of a State Life Insurance license is required.
- A minimum of three years of experience in branch operations with a strong sales aptitude.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of banking procedures and regulations.
