Job Overview

Armand Corporation, a distinguished M/WBE Construction Management firm with over 33 years of expertise in the sector, is in search of a dedicated Project Manager proficient in all facets of the design process for general construction projects.

The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 4 years of experience in construction project oversight, particularly in the development of detention and correctional facilities.

This role is a full-time, on-site position.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing daily supervision of construction operations at designated project locations.
  • Ensuring the completion of all necessary daily work activity and safety reports.
  • Documenting and reporting contractor activities within the company’s and/or clients' documentation systems.
  • Monitoring contractor workforce and the quality of work delivered.
  • Coordinating two-week look-ahead schedules with subcontractors.
  • Verifying compliance of work with approved plans and submissions.
  • Documenting and overseeing the rectification of non-compliant work.
  • Participating in field coordination and progress meetings as necessary.
  • Evaluating contractor payment requests against actual work completed.
  • Preparing estimates for field change orders.
  • Reviewing contractor change orders and providing insights.
  • Interacting with clients, inspectors, superintendents, regulatory agency representatives, safety consultants, and architects/engineers on-site.
  • Monitoring and documenting contractor work through drawings and photographs.
  • Collaborating with the scheduler to review construction timelines for accuracy.
  • Coordinating with contractors to meet project milestones.
  • Ensuring accuracy and completion of workers' sign-in/out records.
  • Attending pre-bid and pre-proposal meetings as required.
  • Performing additional relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Candidates should meet the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in construction management, architecture, or engineering.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in construction project management, specifically in commercial construction related to detention and correctional facilities.
  • Preferred certifications include CMIT, EIT, DBIA, CCM, LEED, and/or PMP.
  • Basic knowledge of applicable codes and regulations.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office Suite, with a willingness to learn various internal and external software tools.
