Position Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Construction Project Supervisor in the New York Metro area. This role is pivotal in overseeing construction projects, utilizing expertise in engineering and construction methodologies to interpret, organize, coordinate, communicate, and execute tasks effectively. The supervisor will ensure that all work is conducted in strict adherence to contract specifications, act as a technical advisor to the client and team members, mentor junior staff, and perform additional responsibilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, building occupants, architects, engineers, and contractors.
  • Oversee and coordinate field and inspection personnel.
  • Manage project timelines from initiation through to completion.
  • Conduct project site meetings to ensure alignment and progress.
  • Evaluate contractor work to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Review and authorize contractor monthly invoices and requisitions.
  • Provide updates on project status and address any issues that arise.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Essential Skills:
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong leadership skills for guiding and mentoring field staff.
  • Proven ability to manage contractors effectively to meet project deadlines.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations, including a 30-hour OSHA Safety card.
  • Ability to collaborate well with others and a willingness to learn in a team setting.
  • Capability to assess contractor-provided construction schedules, including logic and sequencing.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to project completion.

Required Experience:
  • A minimum of five years in construction roles such as Construction Manager, Senior Inspector, or Construction Superintendent.
  • Experience with renovation projects and building system repairs that require active management and oversight of multiple trades.
  • Completion of OSHA 30-hour construction safety training.
  • Experience collaborating with project managers on budget management, processing change requests, and field observation reports.
  • Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., eBuilder, Procore) for tracking progress and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
  • Certification as a Construction Manager or Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Experience with public building projects.
  • Familiarity with local agencies in New York City.

Working Conditions:
Work will take place in both office and field environments, with approximately 25% office time and 75% field time. Fieldwork may involve climbing, walking, and standing at construction sites, and could occur in various weather conditions. Some lifting (up to 50 lbs) may be necessary, and travel may be required.
