Position - Lead Release Engineer

Location - Remote within United States

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and refine the release management process from development through testing to production environments.
  • Automate processes throughout the release cycle, focusing on security, traceability, flow, and quality gates to uphold the highest industry standards while minimizing manual intervention.
  • Collaborate with the platform and DevOps teams to establish the necessary infrastructure for consistent, timely delivery of high-quality releases.
  • Coordinate and manage releases across various components, teams, and projects.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, addressing challenges that affect release scope, quality, and timelines.
  • Continuously track releases and provide stakeholders with updates on their progress and status, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Ensure all team members and release stakeholders comply with engineering best practices and validation processes to guarantee optimal release quality.
  • Regularly enhance the release process based on ongoing monitoring and stakeholder feedback.
  • Maintain a holistic view of software development and release processes in relation to overarching business objectives.
  • Conduct release readiness assessments and validate release manifests.
  • Lead and coordinate the execution of checklists and deployment plans.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in IT/Computer Science, with at least 5 years in release engineering, release management, or automation engineering roles.
  • Proficient in Jenkins and GIT.
  • Experience in building Docker images and configuring builds.
  • Skilled in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Jira.
  • Proficient in Python, Groovy, and/or Bash scripting.
  • Experience with Kubernetes.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a SaaS/cloud environment with an agile delivery model.
  • Advanced understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with continuous integration/delivery tools and frameworks (e.g., Ansible, ArgoCD) is advantageous.
  • Experience in building applications using Golang, Node.js, or Rust.
  • Basic knowledge of monitoring or application logging tools.
  • Fundamental understanding of test automation tools.

The displayed range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and may vary based on factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/bonus/equity (if applicable) + benefits.
