This role involves engaging in project work that focuses on energy efficiency, disaster resilience, cost assessment, technological advancements, sustainability, and carbon-neutral research within the realm of residential construction.
Key Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10-15 years of pertinent experience.
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Architectural, or Structural Engineering.
- Proven expertise in building science and construction technologies applicable to both single-family and multifamily projects.
- Experience in applied research concerning disaster mitigation and resilience.
- In-depth understanding of building codes and design standards.
- Practical knowledge of the residential construction industry and its processes.
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication abilities, demonstrated through published articles, reports, and presentations at industry conferences.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with sustainable practices and green rating systems.
- Proficiency in data analysis and presentation.
- Energy modeling expertise is advantageous.
- Experience in engineering economics and construction cost estimation is a plus.
- Drafting and design skills are beneficial.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead research initiatives and analyses for governmental and industry clients, concentrating on the advancement of construction technologies in energy efficiency, disaster resilience, durability, sustainability, and carbon-neutral building practices.
- Conduct both analytical and experimental research on high-performance buildings.
- Evaluate technologies in residential construction through laboratory and field assessments.
- Engage in the development of codes and standards.
· Interpret and apply model building codes for comparative regulatory studies.
· Offer technical assistance and guidance concerning code and energy standards and regulations.
