We are seeking a well-organized and self-motivated Construction Materials Laboratory Technician to join our team at Home Innovation Research Labs. As a key member of our materials and structures lab, you will be responsible for conducting tests to evaluate existing and new building products, utilizing basic carpentry skills to construct assemblies for testing, and preparing test samples and setting up tests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct tests to evaluate the performance and quality of building products
  • Utilize basic carpentry skills to construct assemblies for testing and evaluation
  • Prepare test samples and set up tests to ensure accurate and reliable results
  • Record data and provide observations detailing test results
  • Perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Receive and ship materials, including operating a forklift and inspecting incoming materials
Requirements
  • 1-3 years of laboratory or construction experience
  • High School Grad required, AA degree in math, science, or technology preferred
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand standard test methods
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to sit, bend, or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work overtime when required
  • Familiarity with basic shop equipment and various hand tools
  • Forklift Operator certification preferred but not required
