Job Title: Engineering Manager

US Bulletproofing is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in designing and developing innovative solutions for our customers.

Job Summary:

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing activities involved in engineering designs to meet customers' expectations on time and with the highest quality. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator across the organization and lead with a mindset of kaizen (continuous improvement) and respect for people.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the engineering team in the development of new designs and the improvement of existing designs.
  • Provide technical assistance and interpretation of drawings, recommending construction and manufacturing methods as required.
  • Develop accurate bill of materials (BOM) for products to be manufactured.
  • Prepare Department of State technical reviews and ensure accuracy of submittals.
  • Manage change orders from customers to ensure specifications are met on time.
  • Lead research and development initiatives through the new product induction process.
  • Serve as liaison between the Engineering team and the Production team.
  • Communicate with operations to ensure accurate and timely processing of orders in design.
  • Problem solve design issues on the shop floor to support smooth flow of operations.
  • Create detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures for engineering staff.
Requirements:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of experience.
  • 10+ years of Engineering experience within a Manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience with programming CNC machines.
  • Experience with storefront and curtain wall systems.
  • Ability to read architectural blueprints is required.
  • Knowledge of door hardware packages is a plus.
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling software (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, etc.).
  • Understanding of drafting standards (dimensioning, etc.).
  • Understanding of production process and knowledge of materials.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Leadership skills necessary to manage and develop an engineering team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with all departments.
