Position Summary

The Event Service Specialist is responsible for preparing and organizing the banquet area, serving food and beverages to guests in a friendly and efficient manner. This role involves coordinating with both front and back-of-house staff to ensure a dining experience that surpasses guest expectations. The specialist will manage guest orders to guarantee timely and accurate service, handle billing, and assist with cleanup and closing procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold our guest service philosophy by demonstrating servant leadership and treating all guests and colleagues with respect.
  • Collaborate closely with the Sales Event Coordinator and Lead Banquet Server to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Effectively communicate event details with management and provide updates as necessary throughout the event.
  • Oversee the setup and breakdown of events in accordance with company standards.
  • Account for all equipment and supplies, returning items to designated storage areas.
  • Ensure cleanliness of banquet areas and promptly address any health hazards or code violations.
  • Complete checkout procedures with the Lead Banquet Server, ensuring all paperwork is accurately submitted.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of menu items, including preparation methods and ingredients.
  • Greet guests upon arrival and take orders when possible, ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Accurately take food and beverage orders, maintaining a low error rate.
  • Keep beverage glasses filled and assist with clearing plates and replenishing utensils.
  • Complete guest checks legibly and enter orders into the POS system with precision.
  • Follow up with guests shortly after food and drink service to ensure satisfaction.
  • Present guest checks and manage payment procedures accurately.
  • Perform side-work duties as required.
  • Adhere to end-of-shift checkout procedures meticulously.
  • Comply with alcohol service standards and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in reading and communicating in English.
  • Able to lift up to 20 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Capable of standing and moving efficiently for the duration of a scheduled shift.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment to guest satisfaction.
  • Accurate in handling cash and financial transactions.
  • Manual dexterity to operate the register system and serve food.
  • Completion of food safety training is required.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
