Position Summary

A Banquet Server is responsible for preparing and setting up the banquet area, serving food and beverages to guests in a friendly, efficient, and timely manner. This role involves coordinating the serving station and liaising with both front and back-of-house staff to ensure a dining experience that surpasses guest expectations. Responsibilities include processing guest orders accurately and promptly, determining when meals are ready, handling billing, and assisting with cleanup and closing procedures.


Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold our guest service philosophy through servant leadership, treating all guests and team members with Aloha.
  • Collaborate closely with the Sales Event Coordinator and Lead Banquet Server to manage event details.
  • Effectively communicate event specifics with management and provide updates as necessary during the event.
  • Execute the setup and breakdown of events in accordance with company protocols.
  • Account for all equipment and supplies, returning restaurant items to designated storage areas.
  • Ensure cleanliness of banquet areas, including floors, patios, and surrounding grounds, promptly addressing any health hazards or code violations.
  • Complete checkout procedures with the Lead Banquet Server, obtaining necessary approvals before submitting paperwork to management.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of all menu items served at events, accurately responding to inquiries regarding preparation methods, ingredients, portion sizes, and accompanying side items.
  • Greet guests upon arrival, taking orders when time allows, or informing them of a brief wait for assistance.
  • Accurately take food and beverage orders for all tables, maintaining a low error rate in order fulfillment.
  • Ensure beverage glasses are filled, plates are cleared, and utensils are replenished as needed.
  • Accurately complete guest checks and enter orders into the POS system following company guidelines.
  • Retrieve orders and prepare plates/drinks as specified by company standards.
  • Conduct follow-up checks with tables within two minutes of food and drink service.
  • Present guest checks and process payments with complete accuracy.
  • Perform side-work duties as required by company standards.
  • Adhere to end-of-shift checkout procedures with precision.
  • Follow all alcohol service protocols in compliance with beverage service standards and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in reading and communicating in English clearly and effectively.
  • Able to lift up to 20 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Capable of standing and moving efficiently for the duration of a scheduled shift.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be reliable and punctual.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment to guest satisfaction.
  • Efficient and accurate with financial transactions.
  • Manual dexterity to operate the register system and handle/serve food.
  • Must complete food safety training successfully.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
