POSITION SUMMARY
The Financial Operations Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the financial activities of various business units generating significant annual revenue, primarily through manufacturing processes. This position is responsible for the preparation and analysis of financial reports, including interim and year-end statements, to support management decision-making.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure robust accounting controls are in place across the organization.
- Oversee payroll, accounts payable, billing/accounts receivable, and general accounting functions.
- Develop and implement procedures for accurate inventory valuation and adjustments.
- Maintain comprehensive financial records and manage the company's chart of accounts.
- Prepare and file Multi-State Sales Tax returns.
- Generate precise monthly and annual financial statements.
- Collaborate with external accountants for financial audits, tax preparation, and other fiscal matters.
- Lead the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets as required.
- Establish and uphold planning and control procedures, including cost accounting systems, and analyze variances.
- Conduct development, analysis, and interpretation of financial data to evaluate profitability and operational performance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; MBA preferred; CPA designation is a plus.
- 10-15+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance.
- Demonstrated experience in roles such as Accounting Manager, Director, or Financial Controller, with a focus on Manufacturing Cost Accounting being advantageous.
- Familiarity with accounting software systems; experience with Epicor/Kinetics ERP, Quickbooks, and ADP is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members and vendors.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel capabilities.
