Hogsalt New York is seeking a committed and skilled Full-Time Sous Chef with a competitive salary range of $70,000-$80,000/year + Bonus Structure.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a high-volume, full-service dining establishment.
  • A minimum of 2 years in a Sous Chef or equivalent kitchen leadership role.
  • Proven ability to identify challenges and implement effective solutions in culinary and restaurant operations.
  • Availability for flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with adjustments subject to approval by the Culinary Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to all operational policies and procedures, including recruitment, training, performance reviews, and employee documentation.
  • Engage professionally and confidently with guests, staff, vendors, and management.
  • Manage labor resources effectively and maintain appropriate staffing levels, including daily payroll approval.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance daily, including food cost tracking, and collaborate with the Executive Chef on managing expenses and revenue.
  • Maintain high standards for food quality and hold suppliers accountable for product delivery, notifying the Purchasing team of any issues.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as opening and closing procedures, maintaining kitchen supplies, and managing inventory.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and support to hourly staff, with the ability to step into any front-of-house position as needed.
