At Swanson Rink, our BIM Specialists are pivotal in orchestrating teamwork among engineers, clients, and subcontractors on multifaceted projects. The BIM Specialist II is tasked with steering the communication of essential project details and client expectations to assigned BIM Technicians. This role involves leading BIM coordination sessions and serving as the primary contact between the Swanson Rink design team and other project stakeholders. Your Responsibilities:
  • Formulate project-specific BIM Execution Plans.
  • Facilitate BIM Coordination meetings with architects, clients, subcontractors, and other disciplines.
  • Prepare models and content for all MEP disciplines for BIM Coordination Meetings, ensuring accuracy in construction documents.
  • Proactively address issues in a constructive manner while prioritizing the interests of Swanson Rink.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor for less experienced BIM staff, assisting in resolving complex modeling challenges.
  • Oversee the following tasks:
    • Project setup in Revit/AutoCAD for the design team, adhering to client or Swanson Rink standards.
    • Development of BIM modeling content for projects, including families and schedules.
    • Interpretation of architectural and structural drawings to identify conditions impacting the layout of mechanical, plumbing, or electrical system routes and spatial constraints using clash detection tools.
Qualifications:
  • This position requires full-time in-office attendance.
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • In lieu of a four-year degree, an Associate Degree in Computer Aided Drafting or technical training with courses in Revit and a minimum of six years of experience in the A/E/C industry or a comparable combination of experience, education, and training is required.
  • High proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; certification in Revit or Autodesk is preferred.
  • Requires advanced proficiency with Navisworks, BIM 360, or other project-specific collaboration software for coordination.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam is necessary.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design, with in-depth knowledge of drafting/modeling standards across multiple disciplines is highly desired.
  • Must be able to pass background checks, security screenings, or drug testing as mandated by clients or Federal contracts.
  • Authorization to work in the United States is required.
