Position Overview:

As a Signal Designer/Engineer at Gannett Fleming, Inc., you will play a crucial role in the development of transit and rail systems. This position may allow for telecommuting but will require reporting to the designated location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce detailed transit and rail schematics, technical specifications, and comprehensive reports.
  • Prepare cost estimates and project timelines, ensuring all designs comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Oversee the commissioning and testing phases of projects, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
  • Generate both preliminary and final design signal drawings, including signal circuit designs and cutover plans.
  • Coordinate design efforts with other engineering disciplines and participate in design coordination meetings.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, and budget while providing timely updates on milestones.
  • Guide CADD technicians in producing accurate drawings and ensure adherence to QA/QC policies.
  • Conduct field data collection and systems verification as necessary.
  • Assist in the selection of equipment that aligns with project specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline and have a minimum of five years of relevant experience in multi-disciplinary projects. Experience in various aspects of signal systems, including fixed block and micro-processor-based systems, is essential. Additionally, candidates should have at least one year of experience in highway crossing design.

Additional Information:

This role may require occasional travel to project sites and meetings. A background check, including a drug screening and motor vehicle check, may be conducted.

Salary Range: $107,500 - $153,000
