As a Principal Engineer I, your role will encompass engineering responsibilities that enhance and maintain the company's telecommunications and signal processing hardware, software, and electrical systems. You will collaborate with technical operations personnel on system design and configuration, providing guidance to design teams and advising team leaders.

Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in engineering roles and project management.

Education:
A Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Technical Skills:
Basic understanding of industry specifications and standards such as IEEE, ANSI, Fiber (Multimode, Single mode, UTP, etc.), Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet, and Transport technologies and protocols. Familiarity with network design, architecture, protocols, and topology, as well as TCP/IP and the OSI Model. Proficiency in using ticketing and software tools to support operations, along with knowledge of network devices and design software like Visio.

Skills:
Exceptional communication abilities and a professional demeanor when interacting with all levels of business users. Extensive experience in fostering collaboration and building consensus among leadership and implementation teams.

Abilities:
Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English. Capable of using personal computers and software applications. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and quickly learn new technologies.

Travel Ability:
Office environment.

Schedule:
Full-time.

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of company products and services, Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), and industry-specific certifications and training (Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, etc.).

Technical Skills Required:
Monitoring, DevOps Coding (e.g., CI/CD infrastructure automation), Networking/Routing, Operations Automation/DevOps (Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins/Cloudbees, Bash Scripting, Coding in any language with a preference for Python, Java, Go, Groovy, CI/CD DSL).

Application Software/Platforms Required:
Linux/Bash/sh/zsh/RHEL/Ubuntu, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Kubernetes.
