Objective: Under the guidance of the school administration, the educator is responsible for enhancing students' competencies and understanding in the realm of information technology. The role aims to guide students towards achieving their maximum potential in intellectual, emotional, and psychological development within the fields of educational technology, information systems, and computer science.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support student development and achievement in both academic and social skills by implementing approved educational programs and tracking student progress.
  • Address the unique educational requirements of each student.
  • Create a safe, respectful, and adaptable learning atmosphere that fosters individualized and small group instruction, promoting student success.
  • Design lesson plans and educational resources that encourage critical thinking and creativity; employ diverse strategies and tools to effectively deliver lessons and engage students in active learning.
  • Transform lesson plans into engaging learning experiences that stimulate student interest.
  • Instruct students on the proper use and maintenance of computer hardware.
  • Conduct regular assessments of student learning and progress, adjusting teaching methods to accommodate individual student needs, including those with special requirements; provide one-on-one and small group instruction as necessary.
  • Stay informed about district and state standardized assessments to adapt curriculum for optimal student performance.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to deepen knowledge of technological innovations, including but not limited to artificial intelligence, machine learning, and blockchain, to enhance curriculum delivery.
  • Possess knowledge and/or experience in teaching programming, algorithms, coding, software design, networking, and operating systems, with a focus on computational thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Implement instructional strategies that align with the district's educational mission.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Missouri middle school teaching certification required, with a preference for candidates with relevant experience in computer science.
