Project Management Specialist

Key Responsibilities
- Offer program and project support in developing detailed scopes of work to fulfill project objectives and provide consulting for new initiatives.
- Oversee and manage new missions, mission modifications, and a diverse range of options, from project initiation to completion, including construction mobilization and project closure.
- Provide expert guidance for project and program initiatives, ensuring technical reviews and procedural compliance.
- Collaborate with various site departments to formulate new program/project initiatives, potentially spanning one or more years.
- Deliver financial analysis and support for these initiatives, managing and consolidating all related budgetary and documentation requirements to secure funding and effectively implement project scopes.
Qualifications
- A Master's degree in a technical discipline with 16 years of extensive experience in engineering, operations, marketing, strategic planning, or an MBA with a technical undergraduate degree and the same level of experience, or a Technical Bachelor's degree with 20 years of relevant experience.
Experience and Skills
- Over 20 years of experience in Operations, Maintenance, Construction, Planning, and Coordination of sitewide projects.
- Proven experience in Program or Facility Management within plutonium nuclear facility operations, including Conduct of Operations and Readiness Reviews.
- Demonstrated accountability for facility/project schedules, deadlines, budgets, and safe work performance.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the nuclear industry or facility is required.
- Comprehensive understanding of site procedures and safety protocols is preferred.
- Active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two years is preferred.
- Experience on the SRS site is advantageous.
Security Clearance Requirements:
Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DOE 'Q' security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially necessary for assigned duties. Following the award, the selected candidate will be informed when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments.
Work Schedule: A standard 40-hour work week is expected. Various work schedules are utilized, including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10's (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80's (9 hours/day, alternating weeks). Each workday includes a 30-minute lunch break. Overtime may be required at times to meet project deliverables, at the discretion of the Manager.

Work Environment / Physical Demands:
Work is conducted in an office setting, necessitating the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Light to moderate lifting may be necessary for packages and other items. The role may require walking short distances and regular standing, sitting, talking, hearing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and using hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
