About the Role

Tetra Tech is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Project Scientist to join our team. As an Environmental Project Scientist, you will play a critical role in supporting our project managers in meeting the needs of our diverse client base with environmental regulatory compliance needs based on accepted scientific principles and experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field studies, including habitat assessments, botanical surveys, endangered species surveys, and water quality assessments.
  • Plan and execute field studies, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other team members to develop and implement project plans.
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, and other documentation as required.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in environmental regulations and industry best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in an environmental science or natural resources discipline.
  • 5-8 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in the energy sector.
  • Significant experience in planning and conducting field studies, including habitat assessments, botanical surveys, endangered species surveys, and water quality assessments.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
  • Basic or working knowledge of Southeastern flora and fauna.
  • Experience permitting natural resources projects in the Southeast and working with state and federal resource agencies.
  • Familiarity with fundamentals of environmental impact assessment and experience preparing NEPA documentation (EISs, EAs, Categorical Exclusions) is a plus.
  • Experience with Windows-based software applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Proficiency with GPS/GIS field data-collection software is preferred.
