As a Project Controls Specialist, you will play a crucial role in delivering Project Control and Estimating support services tailored to the NNSA Capital Projects mission. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting the SRNS NNSA Capital Projects initiative by evaluating various project scopes, costs, schedules, and management plans, as well as developing support procedures and processes for project integration with engineering and procurement.

Key Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in developing estimates for engineering, construction, or performance management baselines.
  • Demonstrated expertise in creating estimates within a specific area of the project scope (e.g., electrical).
  • Ability to review work for completeness in accordance with project specifications and scope definitions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, along with effective oral and written communication abilities.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Generate estimates that comply with PMXperts procedures.
  • Collaborate with scheduling teams to integrate cost narratives.
  • Develop realistic estimates supported by comprehensive documentation.
  • Utilize scheduling data, basis of estimate, and work breakdown structure (WBS) data dictionary.
  • Engage with engineers to align estimates with the proposed technical approach and project activities.
  • Identify necessary resources and coordinate with Supply Chain for accurate pricing.
  • Assist Schedulers in loading resources from estimates onto appropriate activities.
  • Participate in the review process and incorporate feedback effectively.
Security Clearance:
Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance. An active clearance is not required initially, but the selected candidate will be informed when to apply based on specific work assignments. Preference will be given to candidates who have held an active DOE clearance within the past two years.
