Environmental Program Manager, AWS Infrastructure Development

We are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Program Manager to join our AWS Environmental Infrastructure Development team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing environmental requirements during data center and infrastructure development in the Americas.
Key Responsibilities- Assess environmental risks and requirements and develop mitigations and strategies to support data center siting and development strategies and site-specific project delivery.
- Lead technical aspects of environmental due diligence, including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, regulatory and permitting evaluations, and natural, biological and cultural resource evaluations.
- Deliver environmental permits, approvals, and plans to enable on-time and compliant construction and operations for new data center locations and expansion of existing sites.
- Communicate environmental requirements, risks, and activities to internal and external project partners.
- Coordinate with partner teams including Design, Water, Legal, Risk, Power, and others to optimize site designs to consider natural resource or operational constraints.
- Develop site development and permitting strategies that are environmentally responsible and sustainable while meeting project timelines.
- Lead regulatory agency interactions and negotiations in support of environmental permit acquisition and regional development strategies.
- Develop, manage and track metrics to evaluate project success.

Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, biology, or related discipline.
- 7+ years of experience delivering multi-media environmental due diligence, permitting, and compliance for existing sites and new development.
- 5+ years experience conducting environmental due diligence for greenfield and brownfield sites, including Phase I and Phase II ESAs and support for investigative and remedial activities.
- At least 3 years of project or task management experience for environmental permitting and/or due diligence projects.
- Data center or critical infrastructure due diligence, design, construction, and/or or risk assessment experience strongly preferred.
- Experience in multiple states within the US.
- Experience with Clean Air Act permitting and requirements.
- Experience managing and/or supporting community/public interactions.
- Experience with Smartsheets or other project management software.
- Up to 25% travel.
- Experience working with large teams on a diverse slate of projects.
