About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Manager to lead our security measurement and reporting team within the AWS Infrastructure Security organization. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development, maintenance, and growth of our program, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions to complex problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of software development engineers to design, develop, and deploy secure software solutions
  • Collaborate with product and program management teams to define and prioritize project requirements
  • Develop and maintain technical roadmaps and strategies to drive innovation and growth
  • Ensure compliance with AWS security and compliance standards and regulations
  • Partner with other infrastructure leaders to drive security and compliance initiatives
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in engineering team management
  • 7+ years of experience in software development and engineering
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
  • Experience in multiple disparate technologies, including front-end user interfaces, back-end systems, and networking technologies
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements and describe software product features
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and managing teams of software engineers
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience
  • Development experience with multiple modern programming languages, including Python, Perl, Ruby, Java, C++, C#, etc.
  • Strong understanding of networking technologies and infrastructure
  • Experience with Machine Learning (ML) or Artificial Intelligence (AI) to deliver software outcomes
  • Experience with the AWS suite of tools and services

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company, and dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
