About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Manager to lead our AWS Monitoring Systems team. As a key member of our Cloud Infrastructure organization, you will be responsible for architecting, building, and scaling distributed software systems that ensure the health of AWS hardware.

As a leader, you will have the opportunity to mentor and manage a team of Software Development Engineers, ensuring that monitoring systems meet service-level agreements (SLAs) and exceed customer requirements. You will also drive operational excellence, contribute to design and architecture discussions, and argue for the right outcomes with data, conviction, and diplomacy.

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience
  • 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
  • 3+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems experience
  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of Software Engineers
