The Hotel Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all hotel facilities, including maintenance, repairs, and upkeep. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to oversee the Engineering Department and ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities:- Leadership and Management: Supervise and train the Engineering staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Oversee the maintenance and repair of all hotel facilities, including equipment, fixtures, and furniture.
- Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime and ensure that all equipment is functioning properly.
- Budgeting and Cost Control: Manage the Engineering Department's budget, ensuring that all expenses are within approved limits.
- Guest Satisfaction: Ensure that all guest rooms and public areas are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, meeting the high standards of Hotel Milo.
- Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with all departments, including Housekeeping, Front Desk, and Kitchen, to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Training and Development: Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for the Engineering staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
- Compliance: Ensure that all hotel facilities and equipment meet or exceed local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field, or a 2-year college degree and 3 or more years of related experience.
- Supervisory Experience: Supervisory experience required.
- Certifications and Licenses: Current certification and licensing to operate and repair hotel equipment, as required by state, city, and local legislation.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all departments and staff.
- Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
