Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Bartender to join our team at El Encanto, A Belmond Hotel. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for crafting exceptional cocktails and providing outstanding guest service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve premium spirits, locally sourced ingredients, and unique flavors to create exceptional cocktails.
  • Engage with guests, understand their preferences, and create customized cocktails tailored to their tastes.
  • Follow labor schedule and work assignments, ensuring seamless service during peak hours.
  • Requisition liquors and supplies, maintaining a well-stocked bar with a wide range of options.
  • Keep the bar clean and well-organized, adhering to high standards of sanitation and presentation.
  • Participate in shift staff roll call briefing, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
  • Complete assigned side work, including opening, running, and closing duties.
  • Use utilities and resources in a responsible manner, minimizing waste and promoting sustainability.
  • Communicate relevant information to the department, line manager, and across departments, as appropriate.
  • Comply with safe working practices, Health and Safety policy, and report accidents/defects immediately.
  • Attend learning and development courses, completing eLearning modules as required.
  • Demonstrate and be a role model of Belmond's core values: Care, Confidence, Curiosity, and Community.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
  • One year certificate from technical bartender school (preferred, but not required);
  • 1-2 years Hotel, bar, or related experience preferred;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of beverage quality and portion control standards;
  • Clear, fluent conversational English;
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively before groups;
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals;
  • Demonstrated proficiency with guest service and Point of Sale Systems;
  • Primary quality detailed service ethic;
  • Strong interpersonal staff and guest relations;
  • Team-minded approach to fellow workers;
  • Ability to apply common sense, understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form;
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
